Welcome to Homeschool Energy. We’re thrilled you’re here!
Allow us to introduce ourselves:
Lori is the mother of 3 amazing daughters and the Founder of Homeschool Energy. She is a recovering corporate marketing professional who now fully dedicates her time today to raising and homeschooling her daughters.
“I absolutely love the freedom that homeschooling provides our family. I am an against the grain thinker, and homeschooling fits this mentality to a tee. I struggled in the beginning like many Dads wondering if we were making the right decision. Let me tell you, we did make the right decision. I am fully dedicated to help other homeschooling families (here’s looking at you Dads) achieve the same sense of freedom that we’ve been able to.
Andy is Lori’s husband, co-creator of their 3 amazing daughters and partner in Homeschool Energy. Andy currently works full time in the corporate setting (soon to be recovering) and still somehow finds time to contribute to this crazy homeschool life.

I struggled in the beginning like many Dads wondering if we were making the right decision. Let me tell you, we did make the right decision. I am fully dedicated to help other homeschooling families (here’s looking at you Dads) achieve the same sense of freedom that we’ve been able to.
Why Did We Create Homeschool Energy?
It all started over 5 years ago when we made the decision to homeschool our twin daughters who were currently in (gasp) public school. We were surrounded by friends who also chose to homeschool and this support system is what helped us make the decision to make the leap. Without the support, I doubt we’d have been nearly as confident.
And you see, that’s why we created Homeschool Energy. To be that level of support for other families who are either making the decision on whether to homeschool or not and to support the families who are currently homeschooling their children. Because we know a strong support system can help guide you towards a less hard homeschool journey.
Our Founding Principle
There are a lot of homeshooling blogs already out there. And we have surely relied on many of them to carry us through. But the one thing we wanted to convey with our blog is that this homeschool journey “aint’ easy” and we won’t pretend for one minute that it is.
Our founding principle is that being authentic and real is much more important than striving for perfection.
Too many homeschool parents put unceccesary pressure on themselves to deliver unrealistic results. Most of us are pre-programmed to think we have to stick to a classroom method of teaching in order to prepare our children of the world. But once you start homeschooling, you’ll soon realize this method doesn’t work.
We certainly didn’t know what we were doing when we started. We were scared, worried and not at all confident. Through trial and error and with our homeschooling friend’s support, we slowly found our groove.
We don’t believe in uniformity when it comes to education. Every child is different and every child will learn in the style they are meant to learn in. If you try and force it, you’ll face nothing but resistance. Our approach is to allow our children’s progress to tell us what they need and what direction we should head towards.
We encourage you to visit our start here page to learn even more about our journey and what our goal is with Homeschool Energy.
Don’t shoot for perfection. You’ll never reach it. We’re here to help you keep it real and support you along your homeschool journey.
From our family to yours, here’s to happy homeschooling and going against the grain! 🙂
